The journey is coming to an end

Today was spent finishing up some shopping, having our last dinner with the whole group, and working on packing to come home.

Tomorrow is our Consulate Appointment. This is the last step toward being able to bring Emma Lee home to America. When we land in America for the first time (in Newark, New Jersey), Emma will be an American citizen.

Oh, what a journey this has been! The first adoption seminar we attended was at the end of May way back in 2005, so it has been almost exactly a 3 year journey. Back then, we were told we would be home with our baby by June 2006! Oh, those were the days! Little did we know we were in for a 3 year adventure!

As difficult as it has been, we wouldn't have this little girl if things had worked out differently. So, as always, things are always out of our hands and in the hands of someone who knows a lot more than us.

After the CA, we are taking the train to Hong Kong where we will spend the night near the airport. We need to be at the airport by 7:30 Saturday morning for the day that never ends! Seriously, our day is going to be around 36 hour long! We are scheduled to leave Hong Kong around 10:30 AM, fly for 15 hours and 40 minutes and land at 2:05 PM - technically only 3 and a half hours later! We have about a 4 hour layover where we will need to claim our bags, go through customs, and get to the gate for our flight to Pittsburgh. From the time we arrive at the Hong Kong airport until we touch down in Pittsburgh will be over 24 hours! Please forgive us if we are not too 'with it' when we land in Pittsburgh!

No photos today - it is after midnight here, Emma will be waking up very early, and it just takes so long to get the photos to post.

Bye!
